What makes a QR code dynamic?
A dynamic QR code encodes a short QRCodeFlow redirect rather than the final page address. When someone scans, that redirect looks up the current destination and sends the visitor there. You can change the destination later while the pattern on your sign, packaging or leaflet stays exactly the same.
When an editable QR code is useful
Dynamic codes are useful for restaurant menus that change, event campaigns with multiple stages, property listings, seasonal offers, product instructions and printed materials that are expensive to replace. If a destination contains a mistake, you can correct it without reprinting every item.
Measure scans without collecting unnecessary detail
QRCodeFlow records useful campaign signals such as scan time, approximate country, device category and referrer when available. Bot and preview traffic is filtered and repeated scans are deduplicated to keep reports more meaningful. Analytics show trends rather than identifying the individual person who scanned.
HOW IT WORKSFrom idea to a tested scan
1Create the destination
Enter the page that should open today and give the code a clear internal name.
2Download and test
Test on multiple phones before placing the high-resolution code into print artwork.
3Update when needed
Return to the dashboard to change the destination or review scan performance.
COMMON QUESTIONSQuestions about change a qr code destination after printing
Can I edit a static QR code?
No. A static code stores its final content in the pattern. To change a destination without reprinting, create a dynamic code before the artwork is printed.
What happens if a dynamic code is inactive?
Because it uses a managed redirect, the redirect and account must remain active for scans to reach the destination. The dashboard shows the status of each saved code.
Does changing the destination change the QR image?
No. The printed QR pattern continues to point to the same managed redirect, while the destination behind that redirect changes.
